Applications are now open for the 2026 LEAP Africa Leadership Accelerator Program (LAP), a transformative leadership development initiative designed to address the persistent gender gap in leadership across Africa.
Now in its fifth edition, the Leadership Accelerator Program targets high-potential African women aged 23–35, particularly those working in corporate or entrepreneurial settings. The program equips participants with the skills, confidence, mentorship, and networks required to advance into leadership roles and thrive professionally.
Program Overview
The LEAP Africa Leadership Accelerator Program is a multi-phase experience combining virtual learning, in-person engagement, and long-term mentorship. Participants progress through structured stages designed to translate learning into real-world leadership impact.
Program Phases
1. Free Online Course (3 Weeks)
The program begins with a self-paced virtual course made up of 10 short modules, completed over three weeks.
The modules address key issues affecting women in the workplace, including leadership barriers, professional growth, and career advancement. The curriculum is informed by a needs assessment conducted with over 200 respondents, ensuring relevance to the real challenges African women face at work.
2. One-Week Paid Intensive Bootcamp
Participants who successfully complete the online course are invited to a 1-week in-person bootcamp.
This immersive experience brings together a selected cohort of young African women seeking to accelerate their careers and step into leadership roles within their organizations or industries. The bootcamp focuses on practical leadership skills, collaboration, and personal development.
3. Capstone Projects
Following the bootcamp, participants will design and implement a capstone project aligned with their leadership goals.
These projects demonstrate how participants apply the knowledge and skills gained during the program to real-life challenges. Completed projects are showcased across LEAP Africa’s communication platforms, inspiring other women professionals across the continent.
4. Three-Month Intensive Mentorship
Participants are paired with experienced mentors for a three-month mentorship program tailored to their individual needs.
- Mentor matching is based on participant-identified development goals
