This initiative, supported under the Japan–Africa Conference (TICAD) framework, offers a fully funded pathway for qualified African students to earn a Master’s degree in Egypt at a research-focused university built on Japanese academic standards.
The programme is designed to strengthen Africa’s scientific and technical capacity by training future researchers, lecturers, and professionals in key development fields.
About the E-JUST TICAD8 Scholarship
The TICAD8 scholarship enables outstanding African students to pursue postgraduate studies at E-JUST, a university established through cooperation between the Egyptian and Japanese governments. While based in Egypt, E-JUST operates with strong Japanese academic input, modern laboratories, and research-driven teaching.

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the E-JUST TICAD8 Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be a citizen of an African country, excluding Egypt
- Reside in an African country at the time of application
- Hold (or be expected to hold) a Bachelor’s degree and require an MSc qualification
- Be a researcher, instructor, or potential academic staff member
- Not currently serving in the military
- Meet all E-JUST admission requirements and pass the academic interview and oral examination
- Applicants who intend to return to their home institutions after graduation are strongly preferred
- In such cases, an official endorsement from the home institution is required
