BBPA National Scholarship Program 2025 – Funding for Black Students in Canada

The BBPA National Scholarship Program 2025 offers a unique opportunity to receive financial support, mentorship and community recognition as you advance your academic journey.

Launched by the Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA), this programme seeks to empower Black Canadian youth by reducing financial barriers to higher education. The BBPA has long been committed to advancing equity through education, and this initiative reflects its continued investment in leadership, academic excellence, and community development.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive a financial award ranging from CAD 1,000 to CAD 7,000, depending on the strength of their application and available funding. In addition to monetary support, scholars gain access to:

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must:

• Be of Black African, Caribbean or Black Canadian descent
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protected person, or visa holder residing in Canada
• Be aged 17 to 30 as of September 2025
• Be enrolled in or entering a Canadian post-secondary institution for the 2025–2026 academic year
• Demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and a strong commitment to community service

Applications from both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare the following:
– Academic transcripts
– A personal statement outlining goals, achievements and financial need
– Two letters of reference (at least one academic)
– Proof of Canadian residency status
– Acceptance or enrolment letter from a recognised post-secondary institution

The deadline to apply for the BBPA National Scholarship Program is 6 July 2025 (11:59 PM EST)
