Over ten weeks every summer, Ellison Scholars engage in research linked to the following global challenge areas:

Whether your interest lies in AI, economics, biology, law, engineering, robotics, computer science, physics, or public policy, this programme offers a platform to apply your skills to world-changing work.

Who Is Eligible for the Ellison Scholars Programme

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Meet the University of Oxford’s entry requirements for their chosen undergraduate course
  • Hold, or be on track to complete, a recognised secondary school leaving qualification
  • Meet, or be on track to meet, the minimum grade and English language requirements
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills, academic excellence, and a genuine ambition to contribute to solving global challenges

Note: Applicants who do not meet these academic requirements are strongly advised not to apply.

Key Dates and Application Timeline

1 May – 31 July 2025: Application window opens and closes

September – October 2025: Semi-finalists selected and invited to apply to Oxford

January – February 2026: Finalists chosen based on Oxford offers; interviews conducted

March – April 2026: Selected Ellison Scholars are onboarded and announced

October 2026: Scholars begin studies at Oxford and engage with EIT

How to Apply for the Ellison Scholars Programme

  1. Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet both Oxford and Ellison Scholar criteria
  2. Apply Online: Complete the application form between 1 May and 31 July 2025
  3. University Application: If selected as a semi-finalist, submit your official application to Oxford
  4. Interview & Final Selection: Finalists get an invitation for interviews and onboarding
