Fully Funded Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) 2025–26

The Government of Malaysia, through its Ministry of Higher Education, invites outstanding international students to apply for the Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) 2025–2026. This prestigious programme is designed to attract global talent to Malaysia’s top public and private universities, to advance international cooperation in education and foster mutual academic enrichment.

The MIS is aimed at academically excellent candidates with leadership potential, offering them an opportunity to pursue fully funded postgraduate studies at selected Malaysian institutions.

Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Multimedia, University (MMU), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP)

Scholarship Benefits

The Malaysia International Scholarship offers:

  • Full tuition fee coverage
  • Monthly living allowance of RM 1,500
  • Return economy-class airfare
  • Medical and health insurance
  • Research-related costs ( subject to approval)

Eligibility Criteria for the Malaysia International Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be citizens of eligible countries (non-Malaysian)
  • Not be more than 40 years (Master’s) or 45 years (PhD) at the time of application
  • Hold a CGPA of 3.5 (or equivalent) for Master’s; 3.7 for PhD
  • Submit a written research proposal (for research-based courses)
  • Demonstrate English proficiency through IELTS (6.0+) or TOEFL (500 PBT / 60 iBT) or proof of previous English-language instruction

Certified academic transcripts, Passport biodata page, Admission letter (or proof of application) to a Malaysian university, Curriculum Vitae (CV), Medical report, English proficiency test results
