The Canopy Program 2025โ2026 Mentorship Intensive is now open for international applications, offering emerging and mid-career visual artists a prestigious year-long opportunity. Designed for serious artists who are ready to evolve their practice, the programme combines virtual and in-person mentorship tracks with access to renowned mentors, peer critique sessions, art history discussions, professional development workshops, and a final group exhibition in Chelsea, New York City.
About the Canopy Program
This three-semester mentorship initiativeโspanning Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Spring 2026โconnects selected artists with an intimate cohort of peers and top-tier mentors. Only 10 artists are selected per cohort, ensuring a focused and nurturing environment for creative growth. Global participants join virtually via Zoom, while NYC-based artists may attend in person at The Canopy Studio in Chelsea.

Eligibility Criteria for the Canopy Program
This programme is tailored to artists who meet the following criteria:
- Completed undergraduate studies in visual arts or related fields
- MFA graduates
- University-level educators and researchers
- Aged between 30 to 75 years old
- Must demonstrate a serious commitment to developing their artistic practice
- Open to both US-based and international artists

How to Apply for the Canopy Program
Applicants must submit the following materials:
- A portfolio (Google Slides or website) with 15โ20 completed artworks
- A short statement explaining why you are applying to the Canopy Program
- A statement indicating your preferred Faculty Mentor(s) and why
- Note: You may apply to up to 3 cohorts, but only one will be offered upon acceptance
