About the Program
The AfDB YPP is a three-year rotational programme designed to build a pipeline of future leaders for the Bank and the continent at large. Participants, known as Young Professionals (YPs), are recruited from diverse academic and professional backgrounds that align with the Bank’s operational priorities — including finance, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, climate, gender, and innovation.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of a member country of the African Development Bank.
- Be under 32 years old by the application deadline (or 35 for PhD holders).
- Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in fields relevant to the Bank’s operations, such as economics, finance, engineering, environment, social sciences, or related disciplines.
- Have a minimum of three years of professional experience in development, policy, or project implementation.
- Be fluent in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other language considered an advantage.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Africa’s development and leadership potential.
