Applications are now open for the 2026 Bayer Foundation Scientific Fellowships, offering grants of up to €10,000 to outstanding Master’s, PhD, and medical students for international research placements, internships, and scientific projects.
The fellowships support academic excellence and international mobility, enabling students to enhance their research experience through placements abroad.
In line with Bayer Foundation’s commitment to diversity and gender equality in science, applications are strongly encouraged from:
- Women in STEM
- Individuals from low- and middle-income countries

- Individuals working in Germany with German as a second language
Available Fellowships
1️⃣ Fellowship in Drug Discovery Sciences
For Master’s and PhD students across scientific disciplines, including:
- Pharmacy
- Data Science
- Biomedical Sciences
- Related applied or fundamental research
Projects should be relevant to the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare industries.
2️⃣ Fellowship for Agricultural Science
For Master’s and PhD students (including data science) conducting research related to:
- Crop Science
- Agricultural innovation
- Sustainable farming
- Applied agricultural technologies
3️⃣ Fellowship for Medical Sciences
For:
- Students of human or veterinary medicine
- Master’s and PhD students in:
- Medical engineering
- Applied medical sciences
- Data science in medicine
- Public health
4️⃣ NEW: Fellowship for Climate & Health
For students in:
- Human or veterinary medicine
- Natural sciences
- Pharmacy
- Public health
- Epidemiology
Research must focus on the health impacts of climate change, including:
- Women’s health and vulnerable populations
- Cardio-renal health
- Neglected tropical diseases
- Respiratory health
