The NOMIS Fellowship 2026 at the University of Basel offers a prestigious opportunity for interdisciplinary researchers to delve into the epistemic power of images in shaping science, culture, and society. Hosted at eikones โ Center for the Theory and History of the Image, this one-year fully-funded fellowship provides a unique space to investigate how images function as paradigms across various academic contexts.
Since its inception in 2005, eikones has brought together scholars from the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences to examine how visual representations contribute to knowledge production. The 2026 NOMIS Fellowships will support innovative projects that explore images as central to scientific, aesthetic, or political thought.
