Egbin Power Plc has opened applications for the 2026 Egbin PowerUp Internship Experience (SIWES) Programme, a six-month paid industrial training opportunity for eligible Nigerian undergraduate students. The programme runs from January to June 2026 and is designed to help students translate classroom theory into hands-on industrial practice.
The Egbin PowerUp Internship Programme provides participants with practical exposure, professional mentorship, and a monthly stipend, while building essential workplace skills such as problem-solving, creativity, confidence, and technical competence.
About the Egbin PowerUp Internship Programme
The Egbin PowerUp Internship Experience is a structured industrial training programme targeted at undergraduate students enrolled in Nigerian universities. Interns will gain real-world experience within Nigeria’s power and energy sector while working in a professional corporate and technical environment.
Participants will be trained at Egbin Power Plc, the largest single power-generating station in Black Africa, with an installed capacity of 1,320 megawatts, generated across six 220MW units.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Be an undergraduate student in a recognised Nigerian university
- Have a minimum academic standing of Second Class Upper (2:1) or its equivalent
- Be available and willing to participate in a six-month industrial training programme
Only candidates who meet these requirements will be shortlisted.

The programme is open to undergraduate students studying:
- Engineering
- Applied Industrial Science
- Computer Science
