The Hansen Leadership Institute (HLI) 2026 offers an extraordinary opportunity for emerging leaders from around the world, including Africa, to participate in a fully funded leadership and cultural exchange programme in the United States.
Hosted at the University of San Diego, California, the fellowship aims to build a global community of young leaders equipped with the skills, empathy, and global perspective to resolve conflict and promote peace.
Programme Overview
The Hansen Leadership Institute is designed to empower future change-makers by combining intensive academic sessions, practical leadership development, and cross-cultural collaboration. Each summer, fellows engage in workshops and training sessions covering conflict resolution, social entrepreneurship, team-building, and international cooperation.
Participants also take part in community service projects, cultural excursions, and dialogue with thought leaders from around the world. The programme fosters lasting friendships and professional networks that continue to make an impact long after the fellowship ends.
