University of Warwick 2026 Postgraduate Research Scholarship Competitions

The University of Warwick invites applications for its 2026 Postgraduate Research (PGR) Scholarship Competitions. These scholarships are designed to support outstanding candidates pursuing advanced research degrees at the University. Applicants submit a single application and are automatically considered for all available central funding schemes.

The scholarship package provides full academic funding and personal support opportunities aimed at fostering innovation, academic excellence, and a vibrant research community.

Scholarship Offer

Successful applicants will receive comprehensive funding that includes full payment of academic fees and a maintenance stipend to support living costs, with specific values depending on the scheme. They may choose to study either full-time (100%) or part-time (60%), subject to visa regulations, and are entitled to up to 40 days of annual leave per year, pro-rated for part-time researchers. The scholarship also provides the flexibility to temporarily suspend studies when necessary, offers additional support for researchers with disabilities, and grants access to a wide range of personal and professional development programmes designed to enhance the postgraduate research experience.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Warwick PGR Scholarship Competitions, applicants must:

• Apply for a Postgraduate Research course at the University of Warwick commencing in October 2026.
• Be applying for eligible courses such as PhD, MPhil/PhD, EngD, or entering the PhD stage of an MRes+PhD.
• Begin their studies in the 2026/27 academic session (scholarships cannot be deferred).
• Not already be enrolled as a Postgraduate Research student unless explicitly stated otherwise.
• Be from any discipline and of any nationality or fee status, unless specified by the scheme.

Some scholarship schemes may include additional specific requirements, which will be detailed within each scheme’s guidelines.

• Course Application Deadline: 8 December 2025, 16:59 (GMT)
• Scholarship Application Deadline: 11 December 2025, 16:59 (GMT)
• Offer Notifications: 23 February 2026

How to Apply

1. Read the Applicant Guidance Notes carefully.
2. Submit your course application before the course deadline.
3. Wait for your 7-digit applicant ID number, which will be sent via email within 48 hours.
4. Register your ITS applicant account once you have received your ID number.
5. Complete and submit your scholarship application along with any required documents by the stated deadline.
6. Results will be communicated via email by 23 February 2026.
