The Dow Jones News Fund Internship Program 2026 continues a distinguished tradition of nurturing emerging journalists that dates back to 1960. Every year, the initiative connects close to 100 college students with paid internships at leading newsrooms across the United States. Before beginning their placements, participants undergo an intensive one-week training session designed to build practical newsroom skills and prepare them for professional environments. Internships typically last between 10 and 12 weeks, offering valuable exposure to real-world journalism.
The programme does more than provide newsroom experience. Interns also receive mentorship from established media professionals and gain access to a wide-ranging peer and alumni network, ensuring ongoing career guidance and opportunities. Whether an applicant’s interest lies in audience engagement, business reporting, data journalism, digital media, or multi-platform editing, the programme provides a strong foundation for launching a career in the media industry.
