The Young Leaders Program (YLP) is a 12-month full-time fellowship based in McKinsey’s Lagos office. It’s designed for exceptional graduates from West Africa—especially those who have recently completed or are about to begin their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This immersive program combines high-impact client work, intense professional development, and mentorship from one of the world’s leading strategy consulting firms.
From day one, you’ll work alongside McKinsey consultants in small, diverse teams to address real business problems. You’ll help gather data, test hypotheses, build solutions, and deliver insights that matter—while learning directly from top-tier professionals and clients.

What You’ll Do
As a YLP Fellow, you’ll:
- Join consulting teams of 3–5 professionals on high-stakes client engagements
- Conduct research, perform complex data analysis, and develop impactful strategies
- Present findings to client stakeholders and help implement the solutions
- Receive ongoing feedback and one-on-one coaching to accelerate your growth
- Build critical leadership and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
At the end of your YLP year, strong performers may be offered a full-time Business Analyst role at McKinsey.

- Have 0–3 years of full-time professional experience
- Have completed or are about to begin the NYSC
